The brief introduction of regular silk fabrics
Nowadays, silk fabrics have been divided into many types, and different silk types have different characteristics and typical uses. today we are going to introduce some regular silk fabrics for you.
Satin silk: it’s the most common type of silk, also called” silk charmeuse silk”. satin weave silk with a beautiful sheen, glossy finish on the front and a dull finish on the back.
The regular fabric thicknesses such as 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 19mm, 22mm, 25mm and 30mm.
If you want to customize silk scarves with regular digital printing, we would suggest 12mm, 14mm and 16mm as the ink penetration on back side is better.
Satin silk often been used to for luxury silk pajamas, evening gowns, wedding dresses, silk robes, silk kimono, silk pillow case and silk eye mask.
Stretch satin silk: it's new silk fabric type, the composition is 92%~95% silk and 5%~8% spandex. it's similar to satin silk but more durable than satin silk.
The regular thicknesses such as 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 19mm, 22mm, 25mm and 28mm.
It's been commonly used to make silk pajamas, silk shirts and silk dress.
Twill silk: it is fabulously smooth, velvety soft and breathable and has a subtle sheen. The twill weave makes the fabric dense and durable. Lightweight, with high drapability.

Crepe de Chine: it’s also spelled Crêpe De Chine, Lightweight, soft, with slightly rough texture, matt sheen, fluid drape, semi-sheer, excellent wrinkle resistance, durable.
The regular thicknesses such as 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18mm, 20mm, 23mm and 40mm, the shrinkage is around 10%.

Silk georgette: with a slightly grainy hand and a billowing drape, thin, lightweight, soft to the touch, breathable, sheer.
The regular fabric thicknesses such as10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 22mm and 28mm. the shrinkage is around 15%. it's very popular choice to make summer silk scarf.
Silk habotai: It is a smooth, fluid and slightly sheer cloth with a plain weave. Also known as ‘china silk’, it has a soft hand and a glossy sheen.
This kind of silk is less durable and is not a good option for fitted garments. but it’s very popular fabric to make silk scarf. It’s also commonly been used for silk sheet and silk lining.

Silk organza: smooth, drapes well, with a pleasantly crisp feel and beautiful sheen, semi-sheer, has a voluminous drape. The silk thickness such as 5.5mm and 8mm. it’s mostly been used for wedding dress.
Silk chiffon: this fabric is soft to the touch and semi-sheer. With a slight sheen and billowing drape,
The fabric thicknesses such as 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm. it’s mostly been used for making silk scarf, silk wrap, silk sarong and silk dress.
Silk pongee: it’s similar to silk habotai, but lighter and more sheer. The fabric thicknesses such as 6mm and 8mm. it's mostly been used to make long silk scarves.
Silk taffeta: It has a crisp texture, signature rustle, smooth surface, delicate sheen, it is completely opaque, dense, with a medium weight, suitable for evening gowns, cocktail dresses and skirts.
Jacquard satin: It has same characteristics like satin silk, but it has woven pattern on the fabric and makes it has more luxury look.
The regular fabric thicknesses like 16mm, 19mm and 21mm.
